The Phasor III employs the same circuit as the Phasor II but is powered by our patented "Medical-Grade" power rail internally and not a clunky transformer. Unlike the vintage Phasor II, the Phasor III does not need to be plugged into the wall, nor does it take up half of your pedalboard. Pedalboard-Friendly Design Made in the USA This means that they are generally noisy and need blend and/or tone knobs to preserve your tone. The big difference is that most modern phasers are NOT optical and are op-amp or digital based. While Mu-Tron designed it to contain all of the great tone of the Phasor II, they also wanted to make sure it would stand up to features found in other modern Phaser pedals. The Mu-Tron Phasor III is the son of the classic Mu-Tron Phasor II. Modernized version of the classic Mu-Tron Phasor II Such as: 4 and 6 stage phasing, expression pedal control and a modular optical design all in a compact 9 volt DC package. The Phasor III not only replicates the creamy tones of the Phasor II, but it also packs a bunch of features of its own. Unfortunately they are hard to come by, most likely need servicing and are clunky. So many artists and recordings have used the Phasor II over the years.
